As Black Women, our crowns are our pride. We care for our hair, but many of the manufacturers whose products we purchase, do not. Several studies have found high volumes of toxic ingredients in products targeted to Black women. In the spirit of our core value, Afrocentric Innovation, we at Musau Evaluation Consulting decided to use the power of data to take a stand and fight back.
 

Black people are underrepresented in medical studies. Central Cicatricial Centrifugal Alopecia (CCCA), is a scalp condition which is an epidemic amongst Black women but rare in other populations. The exact cause of the disease is unclear, we want to change that and bridge the gap by building a database designed by us, for us.
